Generative AI Engineer

We are looking for a Generative AI Engineer (GenAI) to strengthen our Artificial Intelligence team at Datashift. In this role you'll build GenAI applications that solve real business problems and take these applications from prototype all the way to production, deploying them end-to-end in the cloud, with the evaluation, testing and monitoring needed to make sure they run reliably in our clients' environments.

Your responsibilities

As a GenAI Engineer, you will develop AI solutions to address specific business challenges with a focus on GenAI applications. You’ll do this in collaboration with other domain experts to understand requirements and identify the data required to deliver the expected value. You will also actively contribute to proof of concepts to demonstrate expected business value of AI use cases.

Other responsibilities include:

• Building a variety of GenAI solutions: RAG-based assistants, agentic workflows and automation, and real-time applications such as voice agents

• Maintaining a scalable and efficient codebase for training, testing, and deploying GenAI applications in production environments

• Deploying production ready GenAI applications in the cloud

• Staying up to date and experiment with new techniques and algorithms to improve the quality of your applications

• Working closely with software engineers and DevSecOps to successfully integrate your applications into existing customer environments

• Capturing feedback from stakeholders on outcomes and iterate your solution to continuously improve value

• Coaching junior team members and provide technical guidance and support

• Acting as tech-lead on a per-project basis

Your qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a (Gen)AI Engineer or in a similar role

• Proven track record of successfully delivering AI applications in production 

• Deep expertise in implementing, deploying and optimizing cloud-based AI solutions at scale

• Knowing when to use GenAI or when classical ML is more applicable

• Proficient in Python and software development practices

• Familiar with LLMOps principles (monitoring and testing AI applications, e.g. MLflow, Langfuse, …)

• Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, …) and Agent frameworks (LangGraph, Pydantic AI, AWS/Azure Agent platform, ...)

• Fluent in English and Dutch is a must
